Ritual Guide

Every Nammah fragrance comes in one of three forms. Here is how they differ, so you can choose the one that suits your ritual.

Smudged Incense (petal-rolled, bamboo core)

Our signature. Each stick is hand-rolled on a bamboo core and then rolled again in real dried petals of the base flower. A Rose stick carries visible rose petals, for example. The petals burn along with the masala, giving a richer, more layered fragrance.

Best for: special occasions, evening puja, gifting, and anyone who wants the most luxurious Nammah experience.

Classic Incense (bamboo core)

Hand-rolled on a natural bamboo core for a steady, even burn and a clean, balanced fragrance. Available in timeless temple scents and fresh modern blends.

Best for: daily puja, meditation, and keeping your home softly fragrant every day.

Bamboo-Free Dhoop

No bamboo stick at all: the whole dhoop is fragrant masala from end to end. It burns completely, leaves no wooden stick behind, and gives a deeper, denser fragrance, the way dhoop has traditionally been used at aarti.

Best for: aarti, havan, festivals, and anyone who prefers a traditional dhoop.

How to light incense sticks (Smudged and Classic)

  1. Light the tip of the stick.
  2. Let it burn for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame so the tip glows.
  3. Place it in a heat-resistant holder and let the fragrance fill the room.

How to light bamboo-free dhoop

  1. Stand the dhoop upright in a dhoop stand or on a heat-resistant plate.
  2. Light the tip, let it catch for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame.
  3. Let it smoulder down fully. The ash stays on the stand.

Safety first

  • Always use a heat-resistant holder or stand.
  • Never leave burning incense unattended.
  • Keep away from children, pets, curtains and anything flammable.
  • Use in a well-ventilated space.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.
